Fear of being judged. Is it the greatest fear of all? Do we do what we do out of fear of being judged? Do we avoid what we truly want because we are afraid it will be judged? When we look at our own perceived shortcomings, are they truly shortcomings in our own eyes, or are we just afraid someone else will not approve? And if that person doesn’t approve, is it because they truly don’t approve, or is it because they feel that others won’t approve, and if they don’t also disapprove they, too, will be judged? Have our standards exploded to a point where they cannot be matched, and we all just feel inadequate and the inevitability of being judged? Do we walk around depressed because of the likelihood that another person will judge us based on how they are judged by others who are using a standard of judgment impressed on them by this very culture of judgment? Have we cycled into judgment oblivion causing us to either work ourselves crazy toward some unattainable standard, or give up and mentally decline due to the inability to keep up? Is there any one person that does not feel pressure solely due to how someone else may perceive them? Can this pressure be eased? Is it possible to release the strangle-hold that “standards” have placed on us? Can we allow others to just “be” without judgment? Can we allow ourselves to just “be”? Can we do the best we can and be okay with it? Not just ok, but actually proud of it? Do we ever really know every detail of another person’s existence? Can we ever truly compare one human with another? Is it not likely that a person that does not meet some standard for some thing is exceeding in some other thing that you just don’t see? Perhaps some thing that you, yourself, are not exceeding in or even challenged with? If we all have the same amount of time in a day, and we each accomplish the same things with this time, how will we be different? How will other things that we haven’t focused on be accomplished? How will new things be created? How will we grow as a society? Does every single human feel guilt each day for things they haven’t done that others have, while simultaneously accomplishing something that others haven’t? How do we erase the guilt? How do we eliminate the fear of being judged?
